"What the Holy Land needs are not walls, but bridges. Christmas is nothing more than the story of the largest bridge builder in world history" (Dr. Mitri Raheb, Pastor in Bethlehem)
History
Rock to Bethlehem 2009
In the first year of its existence, Rock to Bethlehem witnessed the participation of 15 international bands, 3 days of excellent music, thousands of visitors, and worldwide media reports.
The Peace-Rock Festival was on everyone`s lips not only nationally, but also all over the globe! International Media reported on Rock to Bethlehem, including: Associated Press, The Guardian, The Seattle Times, Chicago Tribune, Yahoo!, and Fox News, just to name a few.
Above all, it was an unforgettable experience for every participant!
"It's the first time that I hear rock music in Bethlehem, it's live, it's Christmas, and we should enjoy this time of the year."(Fida Ghareeb - Bethlehem)
“It’s great if we can give something to the people here through our music, but actually, we as musicians, are given much more through their enthusiasm and joy.” (Kuri – Cardiac Move)
Music builds bridges
For the second time now, a group of dedicated young people from Austria organize the festival "Rock to Bethlehem" at Christmas in the West Bank.
The idea came from Emmanuel Fleckenstein, guitarist of the Austrian rock band Cardiac Move, who grew up in Bethlehem.
Last Christmas when the first sounds of rock music echoed over the Manger Square, a dream came true for him, as well as hundreds of his fellow countrymen.
